Open to any player with limited experience or first tournament.
Trophy for the top three and then medals in each age group. Medal for the best girl.
Grades: ECF over the board rapidplay grade takes precedent, followed by ECF standard grade OTB, followed by ECF online rapidplay grade. If no grades then a reasonable estimate should be made to place in the right section. If not sure – e-mail and ask.
Please note: Where there is a small entry in a section it may be merged with another section, although prizes will be applicable for the section you entered (in the event of a small Major entry cash prizes will be available to Intermediate players in a merged section). There must be at least 3 players in a category for a prize to be awarded.
Tie- break system (for trophies only) is games played between players tied, then sum of opponents scores, then sum of progressive scores. (If needed further tie breaks can be applied.)
Extra prizes may be awarded depending on size of entry on all sections. The organisers reserve the right to change the prize structure to suit the entries received. Grades used for ranking will be those published by the ECF in October 2021
(You do not have to enter other events to be part of Event 1).
Entry fees: £12 in all sections (for non ECF members £14). Late entry fee if received after Monday 22nd November is £15 (£17 for non ECF members).
(Refreshments may be on sale, but you should bring a packed lunch). We no longer accept cheques. Payment is by bank transfer but if you send a postal entry you can pay on the day, but at late entry rates. Refunds given for withdrawal before Monday 22nd November. We recommend you do not enter through a third party as this can lead to confusion. Send your entry directly to the organisers.
The organisers are only responsible for juniors in the playing hall. We strongly recommend juniors are supervised when they are not playing. It is a condition of entry that photographs may be taken and used for publicity. If you do not wish photographs of your child to be used you must tell us on the day. Photos may appear on the YJCA website, facebook and twitter pages.
